The other dancers returned to the stage, six of them circling the pole in a sashaying Mayday dance. Each one has a moment of solo and a chance to bow to the raucous applause of the audience. I clapped with the rest of them. I wasn’t sure what I had just watched but there was no question that it was a brave and intriguing take on storytelling.
