It was a truly beautiful discovery, this duo of Tomas and Clarke. Tomas played the guitar and sang mostly in Spanish, his native language, while Clarke played guitar and banjo, singing in English. I was completely captivated by their voices from the very first songs. There was something very natural and fluid in the way they alternated, almost like a musical ping-pong, each one offering their own compositions in turn, then occasionally coming together to share a song. Those shared moments felt especially touching and deeply melodic. I genuinely loved the tone and warmth of both their voices.
Between songs, they took time to share small personal stories, which created a real sense of connection. The interaction with the audience felt sincere and light, and we laughed a lot, especially during the moment when we were all asked to whistle. It added so much charm and spontaneity to the evening.
We were carried into a kind of bubble for more than an hour and a half, with gentle and soothing moments, more lively and uplifting ones, and plenty of laughter in between. I left feeling calm, grounded, and deeply relaxed.
The venue itself, Heldeke!, was also perfectly chosen. Cozy, warm, and intimate, it created the ideal setting for this kind of music and made the whole experience even more special. I would absolutely love to hear them again, maybe in the summer, on a terrace or somewhere close to nature. Thank you so much for this beautiful moment.
